History of LMA (Continued)
November 10-11, 2006 - Representatives of the Lutheran Mission Alliance Congregations met at Faith Lutheran in Plano, TX to further the goals of the alliance. As of this meeting, most of the committees were fully staffed and functioning. The delegates resolved to:
1. Receive the Reports on the progress of the Committees,
2. Make arrangements to acquire 501(c)(3) status,
3. Make provisions for lay non-voting membership in Lutheran Mission Alliance similar to the pastoral membership. However, the emphasis was still to remain on encouraging congregations to join LMA and to maintain voting privileges for delegates from member congregations,
4. Distribute the statements of dissent on the three Resolutions of the 2004 synod for discussion and improvements, and
5. Approve funding for a project of the Communications Committee and a substantial budget for the Educational Committee for planning activities for 2007.
