History of LMA (Continued)

May 18 - 19, 2007 - The Lutheran Mission Alliance met at Grace Lutheran Church in Elgin, Texas.

After considerable discussion the proposed discussion starter Criteria for New Mission Start, for Support of Existing Mission Start, and Qualifications of an LMA Missionary were referred back to the Mission Committee for further study and input from members.

The delegates decided to return the proposed logos to the Committee with instructions that the Committee incorporate something specifically and traditionally Lutheran into the logo.

The delegates heard reports from a number of missions and possible missions.  Our Redeemer Lutheran in Palacios, TX, the Montgomery, TX Mission that is in the planning stages, Concordia Lutheran in Terrebonne, Or. and Holy Shepherd in Haslet, Texas were discussed.

The group addressed some Committee staffing and personnel matters.

The group voted to support Redeemer Lutheran Church in Palacios and to look into supporting another mission.

The Suggested Goals for 2007 and 2008 passed.

The delegates thanked the Doctrine Committee and revised the Congregational and Individual Membership Applications to reflect LMA's non-political stance.
