*Lutheran Mission Alliance*voted to fund two missions with grants of $300 per month each: Our The Lutheran Mission Alliance, while concentrating on traditional missions, continues to monitor the theological and doctrinal positions and actions of the mainline church. Rev. Patrick Erickson delivered a fine paper examining the Fellowship declared with the AALC at the past convention. It is posted on the LMA webpage (www.lutheranmissionalliance.org). Each meeting of the LMA from now on will have a doctrinal paper to establish our common unity and goals. Our congregations want to encourage each other as we "see the Day coming." (Heb. 10)
Lutheran Mission Alliance continues to progress. We desire your continued interest in and support for Confessional, liturgical, catechetical churches and missions to whom we can transfer members without exposing them to the shock of so called contemporary worship, entertainment services and 8 hour instruction classes to learn about inerrant Scriptures, creation in six days, headship of men, two natures in Christ, Justification by Grace, Spirit given faith, Baptismal gifts and the Real Presence of Christ's body and blood in the Sacrament of the
The First Sunday in Advent considers the coming of Christ to judge the world and what He has done to "bring life and immortality to light." Montgomery Lutheran Church on that day conducted its first service with over 130 in attendance. People from the surrounding congregations and many local residents heard a Christ-centered sermon, sang from a Lutheran Hymnal and learned from the Bible in Sunday School. There were no Country Western or Rock bands. No clowns. No dramas about sex. It was the Christian faith in a dignified and reverent atmosphere. You would feel "back home again" there. Lutheran Mission Alliance gladly supports this new mission in Montgomery, TX. You can help start and support churches that look, sound and act as Lutherans by becoming a member of LMA.... or better having your congregation become a member. www.lutheranmissionalliance.org
Lutheran Mission Alliance seeks to start and assist mission congregation that will hold fast to the traditional, liturgical, sacramental and catechetical ways to grow a church of people who are dedicated Christians, not just surface attenders as so many megachurches do. One of the first and biggest modern Church Growth advocates, Bill Hybels, confesses that their church draws big audiences, but does not grow their spiritual, faith life. Mongomery Lutheran Mission began on Dec. 2 with 132 in attendance. The second Sunday had 60. At least 20% said they had no church home. While only a small part of this mission, LMA is supporting LMC with prayers and a small gift of funds. LMA would like to increase this amount depending on gifts and offerings. Will you help? www.lutheranmissionalliance.org
Lutheran Mission Alliance is a group of twenty congregations in
the style of "your grandfather's church," but with air conditioning and
computers. LMA seeks to support and encourage congregations to preserve the
liturgies, hymns and, above all, the doctrinal heritage of the Evangelical
Lutheran Church. We believe it was good that wherever you went to a Lutheran
Church, you would recognize it as such and be able to worship and fellowship
reverently and faithfully. LMA would like to have a traditional Lutheran
Church in every town and city in the country. Help us.
