Collects for Lutheran Mission Alliance

These prayers may be used as "stand alone" collects or as sentences to be inserted in the General Prayers of the Church by omitting the "Amen."  You may print them out on one page and keep them in your altar book for frequent use.   If you would like to add to this list, please send your prayers to wd5iqr@valornet.com. 

Based on Isaiah 55:10-11

O Lord God, as You send rain and snow upon the earth so that it may bring forth and produce a bountiful harvest, so cause Your Word and the work of the Lutheran Mission Alliance to accomplish and produce what pleases You for the salvation of others, through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Ghost, one God, now and forever.  Amen

Based on John 8:31-32

Lord Jesus Christ, You have promised that those who abide in Your Word are not only Your disciples but will know the truth which frees.   Bless the work of the Lutheran Mission Alliance so that Your Word of truth and freedom may be proclaimed faithfully to the ends of the world.  Amen

Based on 1 Peter 2:1-3

Heavenly Father, You desire that Your children may taste Your goodness and grow in Your Word.  Assist the work of the Lutheran Mission Alliance so that Your Word may continue to feed Your children with the gracious truth of Your Son our Savior Jesus Christ who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Ghost, one God, now and forever.  Amen

Based on 2 Timothy 4:1-5

O Blessed Trinity, You have commanded Your shepherds to preach the Word faithfully and not be distracted by well-sounding myths of society and culture that deceive, protect and bless the work of the Lutheran Mission Alliance so that the congregations and missions they produce are always filled with faithful shepherds for Your glory and the good of the Church; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.  Amen

Based on Luke 24:47

O Jesus, by Your Word You send out Your Church to preach repentance and remission of sins in Your Name, direct the work of the Lutheran Mission Alliance so that through this message alone Your Spirit may work in the hearts of people turning them from their sin to live to You alone.  Amen

Based on Galatians 1:8-9

Almighty and Eternal God, You have breathed out Your Gospel for the salvation of the world in the Life, Death, and Resurrection of Your Son; help those associated with the work of the Lutheran Mission Alliance to faithfully proclaim and spread the one and only Gospel which has the power to save lost sinners for an eternal life in heaven; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end.  Amen

Based on Philippians 4:16-19

Heavenly Father, You preserve our life through labor and possessions while commending us to use them always for Your glory and the good of Your Church, bless the financial support we offer to the Lutheran Mission Alliance that their work of building and sustaining liturgical and confessional congregations may be blessed and prosper into those things which please You; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen
