The Chairman's Letter of Invitation |

January 18, 2008 My Brother in Christ: Transformation of the LCMS is in full force. As pastors, we are encouraged to modernize our message, promote contemporary (praise style) worship, abandon our vestments, allow women to assist in the pastoral functions of readers and the distribution of the Lord’s Supper, and to start missions that do not use the word Lutheran in their name. These and so many other issues concerning the declining LCMS are of great concern to orthodox, confessional pastors and laity. Believing the problem will only become more acute, orthodox, confessional, and concerned Lutherans have come together to preserve the orthodoxy of this great church. Dedicated to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the Lutheran Mission Alliance was formed to promote orthodox Lutheran missions and preserve the traditions of our grandfather’s church by holding firm to the truth that only Holy Scripture is the source and norm of all doctrine and that the Lutheran Confessions are the truest exposition of God’s Word.
The Lutheran Mission Alliance is a mission initiative that relies on the Jesus Christ of Holy Scripture as its focus, while presenting His Gospel in the light of the Lutheran Confessions, maintaining Lutheran orthodoxy and tradition. These have proven over the centuries to be reliable and trustworthy and the best exposition of God’s Word.
The organizational structure of the Lutheran Mission Alliance is congregational. That is, voting membership is restricted to one pastoral and one lay delegate from each member congregation. However, we do encourage and accept individual membership from those whose congregation may not be ready to join the Lutheran Mission Alliance in its goal of preserving orthodox Lutheranism.
It is my privilege to invite you and your congregation to consider membership in the Lutheran Mission Alliance. For further information regarding the Lutheran Mission Alliance or for receiving a membership application, please visit our web site at http://www.lutheranmissionalliance.org/ or contact me directly at pastortob@sbcglobal.net.
With God’s grace, the love of Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit, the Lutheran Mission Alliance will continue to focus the Light of the World, Jesus Christ, upon a sin-filled and dying world through an orthodox, liturgical, and traditional Lutheran proclamation of His Word.
Your Brother in Christ,
Rev. Toby Byrd
